Thanks to an update at Geek News Central, we've learned that Smartparts is pushing digital photo frames from "picture" size to "portrait" size by the introduction of their SP3200 32" model. They claim it's the world's largest digital photo frame.
It looks the size of a TV, but as explained by Stefan from Smartparts in this video at the CES 2008 Consumer Electronics conference, its built to display high-resolution digital photography which is different from the technology in televisions.

If you have the apetitie for its $899.99 price tag, this is the answer for consumers looking for a digital frame to hang on walls in the place of portraits or pictures. While its expensive now, and we are not sure we'll carry this frame at DSF.com because of the price, there's no doubt the price will come down sharply just as other digital frames have. The trend of digital photo frames has been larger screens and lower prices and there's no reason this won't continue.
Digital frames on walls as portraits is another trend we see coming as well. Just as LCD televisions are common in lobbies, restaurants, bars, and virtually any room in a home, larger digital LCD frames likely will start to play this role as well.
