The Smartparts SPX8 digital frame is one of the most popular sellers at DSF.com, and Smartparts has done well with most of its SyncPix line including the SPX8. However this frame should not be confused with the more recently released Smartparts SPX8WF wireless digital frame. Smartparts like other digital frame manufacturers is seeing the future of digital display frames and moving into the wireless category.
While researching this frame, and looking for enough solid reviews to add it to our offerings at DSF.com, we found some pretty good ones including a recent review over at PC World.

While the 8-inch SPX8WF shares a similar product name to the SPX8, the 2 frames really don't look very similar. The original SPX8 has a contemporary look while the SPX8WF is much more traditional. According to the PC World review, the display quality is crisp and clear as you would expect in a Smartparts frame, and image quality is quite good. This frame also comes with a nice 512 MB of memory so you can store a good amount of media directly on the frame.
But what we are really interested in here is the wireless capability, which is becoming quite popular with digital frames thought its ease of use can be sketchy. The SPX8WF is compatable with Microsoft Windows platforms, so you can instantly connect wirelessly with Microsoft Live photo galleries. You can feed more information for display on your frame like news headlines and weather via RSS feeds and the Microsoft Framelt service.
This wireless frames a feature that we haven't heard of yet, and is some simple we are surprised we hadn't seen it before. Each SPX8WF comes with a uniques email address that you can give out so that friends and family can email you pictures directly to the frame! Since the SPX8WF comes with the SyncPix software, which prepares the picture for display on the digital display, you can immediate display photos emailed to your frame. Very cool.
This second wireless frame from Smartparts has many of the features you'd find on other Smartparts frames - slideshow modes, motion sensor on/off, multiple memory card ports - but the wireless features are a nice addition. Definitely worth considering if you are in the market for Smartparts digital photo frame.
