I'm a huge college football fan, and I attend games almost every weekend. In fact, I tailgate with the same group of friends each week at the same spot at the same school. So how pleasantly surprised was I to find a new tradition brought by someone in the group: bring a digital photo frame each Saturday with pictures from the previous week!
Our tailgate time is treasured, its a time for food, drinks, friends, and football. Usually the weather is beautiful and it makes me and my friends look forward to fall each year. We end up taking a lot of digital pictures and in the past they've been shared via email, or someone's Flickr or Picassa account.

As we've written many times on this blog, the future of digital picture frames is in wirelss technology. What makes digital frames so innovative is that you can constantly display fresh pictures, something impossible on a traditional frame, and wireless technology makes this even more possible. Wireless digital frames are also evolving into more than just picture frames, many now stream other types of media like news, weather, and anything else that can be sent via an RSS feed.
Many people have asked me if Apple makes or plans to release digital picture frames. The answer (to my knowledge) is that they don't, though often times consumer electronics get outsourced by one company to another and released under another brand. But it looks as though Apple has stayed out of the digital frame market so far.
